From the Stage
An exhibition of drawings and paintings produced during the artist's residency at the People's Theatre in 2011. The work is a visual exploration and response to different aspects of the Theatre's activities and events during its Centenary year.
"I began working during the pantomime in 2010 and have continued to attend dress rehearsals and performances, meeting with those involved in the productions, collecting visual information in the form of drawings, photographs and colour studies. I have also worked in the costume area and backstage from some of the sets and props.
"In exploring the environment and activity at the People's Theatre, I am beginning to find visual connectionswith areas of my previous work based on musical performance. The interaction of shapes derived from figures moving on stage, combined with the mood and atmosphere created throught he use of light, colour and set is very exciting and stimulatoing for me as an artist. I am also gaining insights into a different though related creative process which hopefully will further inform and develop my work."

This is my very first exhibition, so I hope I can present to you something unique & eye catching. I'd like you to get lost in my work & enjoy what I love doing, photography.
Photography is beautiful, capturing that one moment, bringing it to life, that you will never capture or re-create again. Shooting in both colour & mono, I try to capture the natural light, which I feel is more dynamic than any light available to buy.
